Crowley Lodge at Dunston had the honour of welcoming the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W. Bro. Martin Rankin, to a very special meeting yesterday evening. On this occasion, Martin was pleased to present certificates to brethren who had received appointments and promotions in Provincial Grand Lodge, but who were unable to be acknowledged at the AGM due to time constraints.
The brethren honoured with acting ranks were:
Ronnie Peel - Senior Deacon
David Watson - Standard Bearer
Promotions were conferred as follows:
Past Senior Grand Warden - Ken Dobbin
Past Junior Warden - Jeff Thompson
Past Registrar - Michael Sowiak
A first appointment was also conferred:
Past Standard Bearer - Mark Lewis
Martin expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the brethren’s past contributions and shared his confidence in their continued service to the Province.
A particularly memorable highlight of the evening was the presentation of a 50-Year Certificate to Arthur Morton, marking his Golden Jubilee in Freemasonry.
In addition, the Lodge was delighted to present Martin, in his capacity as Chairman of the Durham Freemasons Charity, with a cheque for £100 in support of its good work.
The evening concluded with an excellent festive board, enjoyed by all present.
