Durham Freemasons Charity has been nominated in the BBC Tees Make a Difference Awards, recognising the positive impact the charity has across communities in Teesside.
The nomination submission highlighted how Durham Freemasons raise funds and distribute more than £100,000 each year to local good causes, turning charitable giving into practical service for the community. The entry showcased support for a wide range of organisations and initiatives, including the Great North Air Ambulance Service, Alice House Hospice, Butterwick Hospices, River Tees Boat Rescue Service, The Moses Project in Stockton, TLC Teddies and The King’s Trust youth projects.
Together, these initiatives help save lives, support vulnerable people, provide comfort in times of crisis, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for young people across the region.
The award nomination will now be considered by a panel of judges, who will review entries from across the area before selecting a shortlist of finalists. The shortlisted nominees will be announced on BBC Radio Tees later this summer.
