The St Cuthbert Lodge

The St Cuthbert Lodge holds the distinction of being the third oldest Freemasons Lodge in Darlington, with a proud heritage and a thriving membership. Currently, we are home to 35 members, many of whom are ‘Light Blue’ Masons, symbolising the fresh enthusiasm of those new to the craft.

Our membership spans generations, with our eldest member at 93 years old and our youngest in their mid-30s-representing over 55 years of collective Masonic experience. We take pride in the diverse backgrounds of our brethren, who come from all walks of life, including the Armed Forces, Police, and Fire Services, as well as professionals in local government, the NHS, and various service industries. Among us are bakers, self-employed entrepreneurs, and dedicated individuals who have retired from active employment but remain deeply engaged in the community.

We are not just a fraternity; we are a close-knit community that values camaraderie, tradition, and service to others.
