St Paul Lodge was formed in 1907 and has been meeting on the first Thursday of the month at the Masonic Hall in Jarrow ever since.
Our members have an age range of late 20s to mid 90s and we enjoy a wide membership demographic. Traditionally our members have included working professionals from the teaching, finance and engineering fields and we still have a number of members who work in these areas. We also, have members in the telecommunications industries and in a variety of skilled trades, as well as a number who are happily retired.
We are a growing and lively Lodge whose members enjoy the traditions and history of our Lodge and of the Craft, whilst being willing to adapt and change to the needs of our modern society. We are committed to supporting both local and national charities along with the local community.
There is a great sense of camaraderie within the Lodge and also with the members of the other local Lodges.
What We Do
We gather for official our meetings, to rehearse the traditional ceremonies of the Craft and to conduct other lodge business, but we also get together regularly on a social basis.
We are developing a reputation as a charitable, fundraising Lodge with several of our members involved in arranging and taking part in sponsored fundraising events; including the London Marathon, Great North Run and a sponsored Coast & Castles cycle event from Edinburgh to Durham.
At our most recent Installation we held a Hamper Raffle which raised £850 which is being donated to our local food banks to support our local community.
