William Gillhespy Masonic Centre was awarded a Food Hygiene Rating of 5 (Very Good) by South Tyneside Council.

Free on Street Parking on monitored CCTV with additional overspill parking at adjacent shopping centre car park 100meters away.
Approach:
When approaching from Station Road turn right at the Traffic Lights, onto Hedgely Road, 2nd right onto the one way system Vimy Avenue / Whickham Road arriving at Aln Street, the Building is also connected to several transport links including Bus/Taxi and the nearby Metro Station 150 Metres from the Hall.
Entrance:
The hall entrance is at the front of the building and is clearly signed.
Emergency:
Emergency exits at ground level floor are situated at the East elevation of the function room, via the corridor and exit the illuminated fire exit, with a small step to the pathway, also via the North function room elevation double fire doors through the foyer and lobby and onto the public footpath where there is a an “evacuation chair” available.
Accessibility:
Situated in the Town Centre adjacent to a park, near commercial buildings and one of the Town’s (long stay) public car parks, Clearly signed as “The William Gillhespy Masonic Centre” when seen from nearby High Street.
Toilets:
An accessible toilets both male and Female are situated at ground floor level each having disabled access facilities, with Baby changing within the female toilets. is situated on the ground floor. There is an additional dual sex toilet at first floor level.
Inside:
Downstairs is the dining area and bar with toilets. The cloaking rooms & temple are upstairs.
Stairs/Lifts:
Unfortunately there is no lift but there is a stair lift.
