Rose of Raby L1650

Who are we?

Rose of Raby Lodge (consecrated in 1876) is situated in the small, picturesque village of Staindrop. It is a lodge which is well integrated into the local community and is used by Masons and non-Masons alike. Besides our regular meetings the brethren meet up twice weekly to discuss Masonic issues and further ritual practice.

What we do

As well as the Rose of Raby Lodge we also host Rose of Raby Chapter and St. Barbara in Teesdale ladies lodge. We provide fabulous facilities for the local community such as free use of the hall for NHS cardio nurses to run cardio rehab sessions. We provide not for profit weekly ukelele and guitar lessons and a weekly singalong unison choir.

The above activities are open to all masons and non-masons and are very well attended. We also host several social events throughout the year including fund raising events for local charities.

We also hire the hall at reasonable cost for funerals, birthday parties and other functions.

Why join us?

We are a friendly welcoming lodge with a strong social ethic. We have members of all age ranges from early twenties to eighties. Our aim is to make Freemasonry as enjoyable as possible whether it is ritual in the temple or while watching rugby with the Brethren on the big screen.
