On the 15th February and having satisfied the Tyler of his identity, the Provincial Grand Master, John Thompson, had the pleasure of leading the provincial team through the doors of Norman lodge 1334, who meet at the masonic hall at Old Elvet in Durham. John was greeted and welcomed by the master of Norman lodge, Shaun Carey. The brethren in attendance at the meeting gave greetings to John and the provincial team as well as other distinguished brethren, in a manner usual among masons.
After the greetings concluded Shaun carried on with the business of the evening and led his team of officers to conduct an initiation ceremony for Mark Keveny, which demonstrated all of the hard work put in by those members and officers of the lodge who took part. When the ceremony concluded Shaun welcomed Mark into freemasonry in general and into Norman lodge in particular both in his capacity as master of the lodge and as Mark’s father in-law. The fun and conversation continued downstairs at the festive board where everyone was well fed and hydrated and where several of the brethren were fortunate enough to win some great raffle prizes to conclude the evening.
