Durham Benevolence received an application from freemason Geoffrey Lumsdale of Eden Lodge seeking a Community Support Grant for local charity, “If U Care Share Foundation.”

A registered charity based in Chester le Street they provide a range of services fundamental to three main aims of Prevention, Intervention and Supporting those bereaved by suicide and those with severe mental health issues.

Covering all areas in county Durham they are there for the most vulnerable people in our society and support them at a time of need. They believe that educating future generations is key to changing cultures and offer workshops and training to educational establishments to equip young people.

Through Geoff’s own family’s loss of son Phillip from suicide they along with friends formed a group of fundraisers known as, “Team Chippy,” dedicated in the name of their late son. The family received amazing support from the “If U Care Share Foundation,” helping them with bereavement support so as a huge thank you the team over a three year period have continued their fund raising activates having raised over £56,000 to date.

Durham Benevolence were delighted to be supporting a charity with such a worthily cause and awarded them with a Community Support Grant of £2,500
