Final Festival Supporters Evening of 2019

With the festive season approaching celebrations began in the West of the Province as Old Elvet Lodge welcomed the AsstPGM, John Thompson, on a formal visit to their Christmas meeting on Tuesday 17th December.

 

The Lodge having been opened and closed in due form by the Worshipful Master Michael Reamers and his officers, the members were joined by their wives, partners and guests to receive the latest Festival Presentation Talk given by John as the 2021 Director.

 

The evening was further embellished as invitations had also been sent out to the those members and supporters who had taken part in assisted in the many challenging events held throughout 2019. John took great delight in being able on this occasion to personally thank each for the dedication and commitment to the festival and at the same time present them with  festival supporters medal.

 

With the Festival Target Reached the current total figure raised stands at £2,712,768 a fantastic achievement, John thanked thanked the Festival Team, our hall ambassadors, our event organisers and the army of Charity Stewards, who work tirelessly in their lodges and to you all for your support with donations.

 

“This truly has been a team effort, but the job isn’t done. The Province of Durham committed to a 5 year fundraising campaign and I urge you all to keep on supporting the Festival until our
conclusion in 2021.The last few months has Brethren, as we approach the end of year 4 in our 5-year Festival in aid of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys which will end early in 2021”

 

Afterwards over 110  brethren and their guests retired for a fantastic Festive Five Course Banquet with entertainment from Karl Herbert which continued late into the evening.
