Chapter Team visit St Hilda

AprilOn a bright Spring evening the Provincial Chapter deputation lead by EComp Michael Shaw DepGSupt in Charge headed to South Shields to the meeting of St Hilda Chapter No 240. This was the first time the team had been out as a group for some time and were excited to be together once again.
The Chapter team lead by EComp Graham Bainbridge supported by his Co Principals E comps Kenny Hiles and John McCormack with the companions of the Chapter delivery a wonderful exultation ceremony to their candidate Bro Terence Davis.
After the Chapter was closed everyone retired to the festive board. After a hearty meal, Michael Shaw replied to his own toast thanking the companions for their evening and allowing himself and the Deputation to be a part of the occasion.
Michael commented “that he was pleased to come and support the Chapter”, he further explained that the team visits were an ideal way for the team to be visible to the Companions of the Chapter. He congratulated the newest member of the Chapter and encourage everyone to support him and make his membership enjoyable.
Michael explained the work of Benevolence in his capacity as Vice Chairman and how he was thankful for the donation from the Chapter this evening and it would be put to good work . Durham Benevolence had over 100 applications of support in the last couple of years and he explained that “Our Durham Charity” had supported individuals , charity and many other organisations supporting children, mental health, food banks to name a few. He went on the thank the brethren for their continued support.
During his speech Michael introduced EComp John Thompson as ME GSupt Designate who had joined the deputation and wished him well for his term of office and looked forward to exciting times ahead.
Before retiring Michael thanked the chapter on behalf of the team for a wonderful evening and the kind hospitality shown.
