Mayor visits Esplanade

The Right Worshipful Mayor of Sunderland, Councillor Dorothy Trueman, and the Consort of the City of Sunderland, Councillor Harry Trueman accepted an invitation from the Provincial Grand Master to visit to the Provincial Office in Sunderland to see at first-hand some of the things local Freemasons do.

They were welcomed at the Esplanade  by the Provincial Grandmaster, John Thompson and the Provincial Grand Secretary Tom Gittins, along with other members of the Province.

During the visit, the Mayor and Consort engaged with various representatives from Durham Benevolence, the Armed Forces Committee, and our very special TLC members.

A full tour of the Provincial Office and Museum took place leaving all very impressed with the diverse Community aspects and Charitable causes Masons are engaged, with as well as an appreciation of the many historical links Masons have with Sunderland and the entire province of Durham which stretches from the River Tyne to the River Tees.

All present enjoyed and a lovely buffet lunch at which the Mayor was presented with a ‘Hug’ of TLC Teddy Bears for her future Charitable fundraising opportunities
