On Friday 30 th September, Blyth Golf Club was the setting for the Joseph Miller Cup Golf Match between the Provinces of Durham and Northumberland.
Due to adverse weather conditions the competitors were only able to play 10 holes as constant wind and rain during the day rendered the course almost unplayable.
After the Durham and Northumberland players had returned to the clubhouse to dry off the scores were counted and Northumberland were declared the winners for the second year running.
Following a much required meal to warm up all the competitors and a few drinks the Northumberland Captain was presented with the Joseph Miller Cup.
The much-anticipated raffle closed the proceedings with £100 being donated to the Maggies Cancer Charity.
We in Durham look forward to next year where we hope home advantage will bring the Cup back to our Province.
The date and venue for next years match will be released soon so please look out for it.
