On Wednesday the 20th July,  the Masonic Hall in Ferryhill hosted a meeting of the Craft and Chapter Grand Lodge Officers called by the Provincial Grand Master, John Thompson and his Team.

The overflowing car park was a first indication of a very large attendance and the hall was soon brimming full with all seats taken.

John opened the meeting with a warm welcome to everyone present and outlined his plans for the future of freemasonry in the Province of Durham, emphasizing his now familiar  “stronger together” message and the role that the present company would play in his plans.

The presentation outlined the responsibilities of Grand Officers in the support of Lodges and Chapters, with talks by Michael Graham the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Tom Gittins the Provincial Grand Secretary/Scribe E and John Watts, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, covering a range of topics.

All present were very enthusiastic and participated in a question and answer session at the end. The Past Provincial Grand Master Eric Heaviside stood up on behalf of all present to thank John and his Team and wished them every success for the future.

A splendid buffet followed where the general feel good factor was obvious for all to see.
