The Ceremony of the Veils

The Ceremony of the Veils

Mar 14, 6:45pm - Mar 14, 11:00pm

Stockton Masonic HallWellington StreetStockton-on-Tees,TS18 1RD Map

Tees Royal Arch Chapter No. 509
is delighted to host a presentation of
‘The Ceremony of the Veils’
At Stockton Masonic Hall, Wellington Street,
Stockton on Tees TS18 1RD
Thursday 14th March 2024, 6.45pm Start
A Presentation to be given by The Provincial Grand Chapter
of Durham and the Companions of Tees Chapter No. 509.
This ancient ceremony is seldom seen in English Chapters, and it is a year since it
was last presented in Durham. Companions from all Chapters in the Province are most
welcome to attend for what is sure to be an interesting and informative presentation.
‘The Ceremony of Passing the Veils’ was an integral part of the Royal Arch
ceremony and was practised as a preliminary to the Exaltation ceremony. In 1834
the basis of the current ceremonies was established and agreed by Supreme Grand
Chapter and the ‘Ceremony of the Veils’ stopped being practised thereafter.
The ceremony can be demonstrated once annually by a Province, so this is a rare
opportunity to witness something that at one time was an integral part of our
Masonic Heritage.
If you are interested in our rich history and want to see something that little
bit different, then why not come along?
All Companions are invited to attend. To book your place please visit
www.tickettailor.com/events/provincialgrandlodgeofdurham
Booking for the event is free, but should you wish to dine, the dining is
priced at £20.00 inclusive of a three-course meal.
On line bookings for attendance and dining should be made only through
‘Ticket Tailor’
Closing date for dining is 1st March 2024

Hartlepool Masonic HallHartlepool, Map

This introduces the Royal Arch to new Brethren and re-introduces the Order to Brethren who might have previously been members.
“Talking Heads” is a short play about an encounter between two lodge members; one an experienced Past Master (and Royal Arch Companion) and the other a Master Mason curious to know more.
The encounter takes place just outside the lodge room at a Craft meeting with the two brothers opening their cases and getting prepared for their meeting. It covers the history of the Order, explanations of the regalia, links to the Craft, why the Royal Arch is the completion of pure Antient Freemasonry, the time and financial commitments involved in being a member, how to discover more and how to find a Chapter to join.

This event is for Master Masons who are interested in joining the Royal Arch; however all are welcome to attend.

To assist with numbers please inform the Secretary of your attendance and whether you wish to dine.
