The Provincial Grand Master, John Paul Thompson along with the Deputy Provincial Master, Michael Graham, the four Assistant Provincial Grand Masters and a Provincial Deputation attended Cestria Lodge Centenary celebrations at Chester Le Street Masonic Centre.
The lodge room was packed to the rafters with over seventy brethren, the Master of the Lodge, Stephen Foster, conducted the opening before handing over to the Secretary of the Lodge, David Anderson to perform a short talk on the history of Cestria.
On the second rising, the Provincial Grand Master asked the Deputy Provincial Grand Secretary, Mike Davies, to read out the Centenary Warrant before he presented it to the Lodge.
After closing, a hearty five course meal was served up at the festive board, downstairs and on John’s response to his toast thanked the brethren for a wonderful evening celebrating Cestria Lodge No 4493 centenary that evening and went on to say “Freemasonry is strong in Chester Le Street and you will always receive a warm welcome with very generous hospitality. Thank you for the wonderful gifts and Andrea, my wife, thanks you for the wonderful flowers”.
