Brian Receives 60th Certificate

The year 1963 was a significant year for Brian Galt. In October he married Jeanette. In December he became a Freemason in John Redhead Lodge.  Prior to that Lodge closing he joined North Pennine, a daylight Lodge meeting 4 times per year at Middleton in Teesdale.

Brian is the current worshipful master of North Pennine and at their May 2024 meeting the Deputy Provincial Grand Master John David Watts accompanied by Deputy Provincial Director of Ceremonies David J Atkinson attended to celebrate Brian’s diamond jubilee in Freemasonry.

Members wives were also there for lunch so the celebration was conducted after the lodge was closed in the presence of the ladies.

To acknowledge the significant support Mrs Jeanette Galt has given to her husband’s masonic activity over 60 years John presented her with the certificate which she proudly carried out alongside the Deputy Provincial Grand Master in the retiring procession.

Sadness during the meeting over the recent passing of Lodge Secretary John R Bayles was marked by a collection during lunch in aid of his favourite charity, the Great North Air Ambulance Service which raised £350.

A Letter from Brian & Jeanette

Dear John

“Please accept our appreciation and thanks for making our day on Friday so memorable, the way you conducted the whole presentation was really appreciated, and including Jean was a real unexpected because as I said, my 60 years in Freemasonry has been Joint membership.

I hope you enjoyed the whole day as much as we did and the icing on the cake was a £350.00 collection in memory of our well-loved brother John. There will always be a warm Masonic welcome for you if you decide to visit us again”.

Sincere good wishes Jeanette and Brian Galt
